Matt Solondz is a seasoned finance and treasury professional with over a decade of experience in cash management, investment operations, and corporate treasury functions.
He has led and executed complex finance transformations, cash flow forecasting, and banking infrastructure projects for organizations across the financial services, insurance, and real estate sectors. With deep expertise in liquidity strategy, ERP and TMS implementation, bank relationship management, and FX hedging, Matt has consistently optimized operational efficiency while supporting strategic capital planning.
Throughout his career, Matt has successfully managed cross-functional teams and overseen the design of target operating models, bank account rationalizations, and fund structuring initiatives—always with a focus on control, scalability, and stakeholder alignment. He leverages this background to drive operational excellence, implement robust financial controls, and ensure disciplined oversight across all facets of the lending platform.
With an emphasis on accurate reporting, transparent governance, and scalable systems, Matt is committed to building a foundation of integrity and efficiency that supports sustainable growth. At Blue Eyed Lending, he plays a key leadership role in shaping both operational strategy and financial stewardship, enabling the firm to scale with confidence and precision.
For the past forty years, Mr. Ullman has built and sustained a career in evaluating, managing, and trading portfolios of residential real estate–backed loans and securities.
In 2024, Mr. Ullman founded Blue Eyed Lending, where he serves as CEO/CIO. The firm is an asset manager that primarily purchases hard money loans from other hard money lenders.
In 2010, he founded Asset Based Lending, a private hard money lender to residential real estate investors based in New Jersey, where he also served as Chief Investment Officer until his retirement in 2021.
From 1998 to 2009, Mr. Ullman was President and Chief Investment Officer of Highland Financial Holdings Group, a New York City–based investment management firm specializing in mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities portfolios for a global clientele.
In 1992, he co-founded the asset-backed security specialty investment management group at Alliance Capital Management.
Mr. Ullman began his career in 1982 in the mortgage-backed securities department at Salomon Brothers.
He holds a B.S.B.A. in Finance from Washington University in St. Louis. He and his family reside in Connecticut and New York City.
